Sunbus service
The university is situated 30 minutes from the city centre and is on the Sunbus bus route with a bus stop in the campus grounds. All students receive a Sun-bus timetable on arrival and are provided assistance with enquiries as to specific bus routes. For more information visit the Sunbus web site.
Bicycles
Bicycles are a popular cheap method of travel in Cairns. Cycle lanes are clearly marked on city roads. A cycle path map is available at the JCU-ELC administration office or you can download a map from the Cairns City Council.
Bicycle riders are all required by law to wear a safety helmet.
Taxi service
Black and White Taxis provides door to door passenger transport service throughout the Cairns taxi district. The company operates a fleet of 137 government licensed taxi vehicles comprising sedans and station wagons for up to four passengers, maxi taxis for up to 10 passengers as well as wheel chair capable vehicles.
