Welfare and Academic Counselling

JCU English Language Centre provides excellent support and Counselling services for all students. We recognize how difficult it can be moving to and living in a new country, so we ensure that all students have a number of immediate staff they can talk to on a daily basis. The service provided includes academic and welfare Counselling and support.

We will always make time to talk with a student who has a problem. Should we consider that the student can be better assisted through another qualified counselor, we have a referral system to both the University for Cairns students and the TAFE for our Townsville students. We strongly believe that most problems when dealt with quickly can be overcome.

JCU English Language Centre has a critical incident policy and procedures to ensure the interests of students and their families are managed appropriately in the event of a distressing and upsetting incident.
