I am pleased to welcome you to JCU – English Language Centre
Our English Language Centres are situated on the campus of James Cook University in Cairns, Queensland’s second oldest university and Australia’s leading tropical research university and at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE, in the heart of Townsville, the largest provider of Vocational Education and Training in North Queensland.
The JCU English Language Centres are small, friendly and staffed by highly experienced, language teaching specialists. Our students have access to a wide range of study resources including excellent library facilities, modern computer laboratories, audio-visual technology, internet and network access as well as individual study Counselling and advice from JCU-ELC support staff.
Whether you are a student who wants to move on to academic studies at university or TAFE or simply want to improve your English communication skills, our centres offer an exciting range of language courses including General English (Elementary-Advanced), English for Academic Purposes (Intermediate-Advanced) and Cambridge exam preparation courses.
