Vision

JCU-ELC will be recognised as a leading provider of English language education to international students from non English speaking backgrounds.

Students’ personal and academic needs will be met in a relaxed tropical environment where all members (students and staff) will develop personally and professionally so they can successfully participate in the ever expanding global community.

Mission

The JCU-ELC mission is to provide an opportunity for International Students to:

• Learn English for personal, academic and professional purposes
• Experience Australian culture and University life
• Foster and promote intercultural understanding.

JCU–ELC provides all students with a personalized, supportive, and engaging learning environment where through the collaboration with James Cook University and Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE students will be provided the opportunity of a transitional bridge to academic programs and vocational education and training pathways.
